Alebrijes
This is my Alebrije his name is Sebastian. He is an elephant with bull horns and dragon wings. Our Alebrijes had to be functional his book bag is open so you can put things in it such as ear rings, candy, rings, or just small left over things. You can hang necklaces on his wings as well. An Alebrije are brightly colored mexican folk art they take many different animals/ creatures and mash them together to make one. I used clay and acrylic paint to make my Alebrije. I like how it turned out, it took a lot of time, but it was worth it.
Self Portrait
This project was very hard for me. I erased and redrew over and over. My medium was pencil and colored pencil. In the end I like how it turned out, but I know i could of done better. I really like the hair and the eyes. I wish I could of got the smile down, but maybe next time.
Final
For my final I used watercolor for the girls hair and shirt. I made sure to include highlights and different strands of hair to make it more realistic. I used a calligraphy pen for the words. I like how the the words turned out, I think I should've spent more time on my portions for the shirt. Overall I like that I did this project, I really enjoyed it. I would probably do something like it again, but not exactly.
Prints
College
For this project I cut up magazines and glued them on the paper. The I cut out my design and put it on the paper.
We did two types of prints, block and intaglio. For the block we used the block paints and glass piece and a brewer. For intaglio we used the acrylic paints and painted it on then scraped off the excess paint. Then wetted a paper and printed.
